Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.
~William A. Ward
Yeah! A SURPRISE package! WHAT??? Not ONE package … but THREE packages! You’ll NEVER believe where they CAME from … all the way from ROSS in AUSTRALIA! We wonder WHAT is IN those packages! Some of our guesses were:
- stuffed animals because when we shook it it SOUNDED a little rattly … and Ross has SENT us stuffies before!
- hockey sticks? (Are we thinking this because the SNOW is starting to fly?) 😉
- inflatable soccer balls? (Some of us must be HOPEFUL that the snow won’t last THAT long!)
- hockey pucks?
- some of us thought it might be CDs because we know that Ross is a GREAT movie maker and he’s sent them in the past!
- a SNAKE??? (Mrs. Renton sure HOPED not!!!)
- a FLAG?
- a MAP?
We VOTED to decide WHICH package to open FIRST!!! Then, Mrs. Renton drew NAMES to be fair! We felt REALLY excited! We were SO surprised when we OPENED the packages and discovered what was INSIDE! WHAT!!! A DINOSAUR egg? Just add WATER and WAIT!!! We’ll have to wait until Monday because … well … what if it gets LOOSE over the WEEKEND … and makes a mess of the CLASSROOM??? (The STUDENTS aren’t afraid of the dinosaur wrecking the class but Mrs. RENTON sure is!!!)
We thought the Ancient Animals book and ultraviolet magnifying glass was SO cool because the magnifying glass would show you secret messages on some of the cards!
We LOVED the surprise presents that came from Ross! He knew that, because we were learning about fossils, we would LOVE the gifts!
Here’s a SLIDESHOW of our surprise mail adventure. We sure hope you enjoy it as much as WE enjoyed RECEIVING these special gifts:
Ross, we have SO much gratitude for these surprise parcels! Thank you SO much for being such a WONDERFUL teacher to us … all the way on the OTHER side of the world! You should know that, even after SEVERAL years, students THOROUGHLY enjoy your surprise packages. One of their most FAVOURITE activities is spotting the SNAKE cards, SNEAKING up behind Mrs. Renton, ACTIVATING the card and ASKING her, with HUGE twinkles in their eyes, WHICH disgusting snake she thinks it MIGHT be! (THANKS for THAT!!!) 😉
You have blessed our learning in SO many ways and your kindness is treasured by both current AND previous Global Grade Three bloggers, (and their lucky teacher)!
