From Me to We … Together We Are STRONGER!

Posted by on September 15, 2015

We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibres connect us with our fellow men.

~Herman Melville

Learning about one another through five treasures. We took special care to arrange each special artifact on our desks so that our classmates could take a closer look!

It’s hard to believe that we have already been back at school for eight whole days! As new Grade Threes, we spent a lot of time getting to know one another by sharing our strengths and our interests! On the first day of school, each of us brought a small bag with five treasures hidden inside. Each of these artifacts were chosen carefully so that our classmates would get to know a little more about us. We discovered quickly that, although we are ALL different, we share MANY similarities too!

We could NOT believe how MANY of us brought pictures of our special pets!

We could NOT believe how MANY of us brought pictures of our families and our special pets! *If you look VERY closely, you MIGHT even see a HULA dancer!

After each of us had had the opportunity to sit in the sharing chair to share our passions and to answer our classmates’ questions, we each set our treasures out on our desks to take a closer look! It was so much fun to be able to take an up close look at what we each treasure. We were SO surprised to discover that MANY of us are interested in MAGIC … and … ORIGAMI! Because of this adventure, we learned some new magic tricks, we learned about who likes to keep TRAVEL journals, who plays SPORTS, who loves ANIMALS, who loves TREES … we have an AMAZING group of learners this year!

We hope you enjoy our slide show of our adventures checking out the artifacts!

We are looking forward to an AMAZING learning journey this year, filled with wonder, curiosity and adventure.
